So I was talking to my instuctor about the PADI deep diver spec I'm due to do at some point over the next year and we got talking about narcosis. Now I know this can be dangerous, but he had a few good stories of what people do under the affects of this. His best story was about two instuctors and goes something like this:

This was during a deep dive with 2 other instuctors that were diving as buddies. One decides he wants to put up an SMB so gets his real out and attaches what he thinks is his SMB. He attempts to inflate it but nothing happens. He calls over his buddy and he too tries to inflate it, but he has no sucess either. Both puzzled that no mater how much air they put in, it won't inflate. Once they return to the surface and back on the boat they have a look to see why the SMB will not inflate. They find attached to the reel a mesh goodie bag.. They had been trying to inflate this the whole time and neither had noticed.

Anybody else have a good or scary narcosis story?

That story sounds a little weird. I guess everyone experiences narcosis in different ways and at different depths. I'd be interested in seeing what other stories people have, but more importantly, how people have dealt with them.
