I'm interested to know, who is the weirdest thing you've seen while diving? Between us all, we must have seen some crazy and rare stuff

Couple of replies from Twitter:

@nineone: an inflatable Sponge Bob with a bottle of rum strapped to his hand, at the wheel, on a wreck dive

@mswecker: A peacock Flounder trying to eat a sharpnosed puffer. The flounder was determined, but the puffer eventually won

I was leading a dive in a very well know dive in Malta, when i brought my clients into I a small natural bay to make our safety stop. Whilst there i was trying to entertain my clients with the normal bubble blowing stuff, my clients and i looked up and to my horror there was a lady pulling her bikini bottoms to one side and having a poo !! it coiled its way down to within a meter of my guests, WHAT COULD I DO ?? but just look at them and say sorry with my eyes, through my mask !!
The worst part about it was that when we came out of the water and walked around the bay, the same lady in the unforgettable leopard skin bikini was the first person we walked past !! Oh how she got some bad looks from my guests !!

I have always thought about this and thought “ she must have known we were there, because the water was Crystal clear and there were bubbles all over the place “ So why why why !!

If you were one of my clients on that life changing dive, then please contact me, so I can say sorry again !!

I learnt to dive in Egypt, we were staying at the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls resort which is popular with Russians. Most of the russian couples seemed very comfortable with very public displays of affection and getting drunk. Thats basically all they did get drunk, eat the faces off each other, have a fight and go to bed. We were in the pool practicing our skills, when the girl beside me grabbed me and started pointing to my left I looked round and there was a russian couple in the corner of the pool going for it! They knew we were in the pool but didnt seem to care! Like 6 of us surfaced and they just carried on at it! In broad day light in the middle of a 'family' resort!!
Not as bad as the poo incident but still shocking!!

Quite tame compared to everyone else's stories, but diving at the shark & yolanda reef in Ras Mohammed I came across the spilt contents one of the Yolanda cargo containers and the earlier story just reminded me of that...

We used to dive an old garbage dump that was originally at the end of a dock out from a Spanish American War veteran home/hospital.

We dug in one spot for a couple of years and the bottles and junk just got older and older. At one point we started finding arm and leg bones as well as one partial jaw bone ... all human.

In those days, amputated parts were just tossed out with the regular garbage.

We dug a special hole off to the side of the dump and placed any bones we found there. We even made a concrete memorial marker for the hole. However, after about a year, some A**hole took the marker! I guess that was HIS weirdest thing.

The weirdest thing i have ever seen is the video of Yuri Lipski, the diver who died while diving in the Blue Hole in Egypt..If you have not looked in the this very odd death, it is very strange..

I would have to say the weirdest thing (more scary) was while shore diving and walking out into the water a man in our group stepped on a black urchin and had 3 of the thorns stuck in his boot and into his foot. That was pretty werid looking. -Jordan

A bright orange dildo. Laying on the bottom in about 13m in Falmouth Bay. Not what you'd expect really.
