There has been a Facebook group set up to coorindate volunteers to help with the Gulf Coast Oil Spill clean up.
Volunteers are being deployed in Louisiana and Alabama and are ready to receive the training and assist the oil spill clean up on our Gulf Coast.
For Mississippi residents:
Please call 1.866.448.5816. We anticipate there will be an ongoing need for volunteers in the environmental cleanup effort. If you want to register your desire to help and receive updates, visit Volunteer Mississippi.
For Louisiana Residents:

To discuss spill related damage claims, please call 1-800-440-0858
To report oil on land, or for general Community and Volunteer Information, please call 1-866-448-5816

For Florida Residents:
Go to http://www.volunteerfloridadisaster.org which has been updating fairly regularly how to help.
On Sunday, May 2, a volunteer training course will be held regarding coming in contact with the oil. * Sign-up to be trained for post-beach clean-up, call 595-5905 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
* Registration is required for a four-hour health and safety training classes for handling petroleum-contaminated materials.
* Classes will be held beginning Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Pensacola Civic Center
