I am starting to develop an interest in underwater archaeology. I am now 50 years old and thought to old to learn such challenging things, but after doing some research I can see that I was wrong. I signed up with NAS Nautical Archaeological Society to start part time training and I'm looking foreword to the next 3 years or so to get certified.
As a result of this new found interest, I thought how nice it would be to have a special forum topic on underwater archaeology on this site.
My English is limited, ( I am French speaking ) but I would try my best to keep it active with comments and interesting news I find from time to time on the internet. I live in the province of Québec, Canada and there are thousands of ship wrecks and other opportunities in my part of the world (the Great Lakes and the Saint Lawrence River) so that given some time I can contribute more fully.
Something to think about
Interesting fact: According to Dave Swayze, a Great Lakes researcher and historian, the current number of ships lost to shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, totals 4,262 in 2001?
