Ever thought about adding a live chat?

There are Java pluggins you can get or can just set up a free channel on an IRC server which people can get to on chatzilla, mIrc, Xchat, etc.

Do you think many people would use it? I've run a few sites where I've had a large member base and live chat was always dead.. :/

I've seen both busy and dead ones. I suppose it depends on the comunity. The trend I have seen tends to be if you get a few people on regular the you will get. The otherway that seems sucessful is to have scheduled live chats with topics.. If people know these is going to be others online they are more likely to join in.

That's a great idea. Maybe I could get someone famous in the dive/conservation society to come and do a live chat.

Thanks for the feedback

Any suggestions on the above?

Sounds like a great idea if you can.

The other thing I have seen/ done on other forums it youtube style interviews with well know people using questions off the forum. This allows for time differences and allows new people to look back.

Charities may be good for them to do some publicity work and some companies will do talks (I know poseidon have been doing some talks on re-breathers).

But it's all about getting the commitment from the people to do these things.
