TOPIC: Norwich Scuba

Norwich Scuba 3 years, 5 months ago #220

After paying for a year membership and my AOW course, Norwich Scuba have disappeared.

I went to the dive shop today to book the time for my course and the place is "closed" and has been gutted!

Apart from feeling ripped for paying for a year membership and getting 3 weeks of it, I'm more concerned about having paid a couple of hundred quid for a scuba course, which I can't now do!

Not to mention the wetsuit boots I needed to exchange with them.

Does anyone have any information, such as who took it over if it went into admin, or who possibly I could contact about getting my cash back?

An update on this:

I spoke to Chris (a former employee at Norwich Scuba) and he says although Norwich Scuba has closed, they are opening another shop called Go Scuba in Norwich.

Go Scuba will take on any courses that people were half-way through.

excellent. much appreciated.

As a note, I wouldnt contact him unless you know him quite well (which then I assume you would already have his number), as I know he's had some personal issues surrounding leaving.

I imagine he's had a fair few people call him...

You would have thought they would have informed you of this when you paid! Must have been a shock to the system!

Yea, was all a bit cloak and dagger. Left a sour taste in my mouth when the shop suddenly disappeared with no annoucement

I attempted to contact Joe but no joy, Would you be able to give me Chris number?
I paid for AOW Rescue and Dive Master £800 up front, waiting for the Padi paper work as I completed the AOW with Joe and Chris.
Just would like to know exactly what has happen and if there is any chance I will get the further courses that I have paid for ..

Re:Norwich Scuba 3 years, 5 months ago #467

As I said, I already text Chris. They are setting up the new diving club in January and will honour all courses paid for at Norwich Scuba.

He asked me to tell everyone that. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest. I know of at least 3 other people (and then myself) in the same position as you.

I'll post a message here as soon as I hear anything. I imagine it will be after Christmas.

It's in Norfolk (East Anglia) in the UK. Here it is on Google Maps.

Hi,

Do you have his details please

Re:Norwich Scuba 3 years, 4 months ago #711

I thought about it today - but it's only the start of the new year. I'm going to give it a few weeks.

I only have Chris' mobile number, sorry.

I don't think you will lose you money if they are just moving/refitting the shop! As long as you have a receipt or something showing you have paid, if the course isn't run they should give you your money back or put you on a different course!

"I don't think you will lose you money if they are just moving/refitting the shop!"
______

Fair point, however normally when a business "moves or refits" they put a notice on the shop, a voice mail on the phone line or try to contact the customers......... closing up shop with no notice and not answering the phone hardly inspire's confidence..... agreed ?
