TOPIC: Diving in Thailand

Diving in Thailand 2 years, 4 months ago #1736

Hi all!
Im off to Thailand this coming April for a month. I plan on spending half of the time diving as the other half doesn't dive! I passed my padi open water in july and haven't done any since. I am keen to progress further and log up as many dives as possible. Does anyone know where there would be dive sites suitable for my ability? One other thing I would love to do some wreck diving as well.

Any help much appreciated
Matt

Whereabouts in Thailand are you going? It's not a tiny place There are loads of great dive spots in Phuket.

You'll struggle finding wrecks for your qualification depth in Thailand. I have done over 300 dives around Koh Samui, Tao & Phuket and there are very few wrecks even down to 30m. There are plenty of shallow sites you would like but my suggestion would be complete an Advanced course before you go so at least you can then visit all the common sites.

Theres quite a few sites that could be added to that including Racha Yai, Koh Pu, Karon Rock, Hin Daeng/Muang & various sites around Phi Phi.

King Cruiser has now seriously collapsed and is no longer penetrated, the bridge has worked its way down and is now almost 10m deeper than when it sank.
