Could I go to REI or Dick's Sporting Goods for Scuba Gear? Or are those too far away from the shore?

Important stuff like, BCD, regs, etc I'll get from an LDS, maybe the computer to if its a good price. Everything else, I might get online from like www.scuba.com, or LP.

I don't always go to the same LDS, kinda depends if I'm taking a class and also in the market for new gear.

Find a good shop and stick with them...... Some items might cost a few dollars more, but the personal service, and all the little favors make it well worth it.

I 95% of the times I shop with Scuba store (www.scubastore.com).
They have really great prices and their service is amazing.

The last 5% of the times I use the local shop, e.g. if I need something that I have to try on before buying it.


But go for www.scubastore.com... It's the best!!

I noticed that you’re from the US. If you are in Florida try Diver Direct, they have everything and at very good prices. If you don’t live in Florida you can by online at www.diversdirect.com however you can’t find the in store specials.

I traveled all the way to Florida from Canada when it came time to purchase all my diving equipment.
